ONE QR CODE TO RULE YOUR DIGITAL WORLD
Skanz accessories: $4.99 (decal), $9.99 (wristband), $19.99 (iPhone case)
It used to be that keeping in touch with people meant making sure they had your phone number. But now that so much of our social lives are lived online through Facebook, Twitter and other sites, there's a lot more information to share. Skanz lets you sum it all up in a single QR code that can be displayed and scanned from a wristband, decal or iPhone case.
NEWS: Can You Disappear on the Web?
Users of Skanz begin by visiting its site and entering whatever details of their online presence they want to share. Skanz then generates an associated QR code that links directly to a free, personal “Skanzsite” with all the information the user provided. To make sharing easier, Skanz also sells three ways to display users' personal QR codes: decals, wristbands and cell-phone covers. Skanz is currently in private beta, with launch scheduled for mid-August. A dedicated Skanz mobile QR reader app, meanwhile, is already available in both the iTunes app store and the Android Market.
