Research In Motion (RIM) has announced five new BlackBerry smartphones based on its BlackBerry 7 operating system (OS). RIM, in conjunction with carriers and distribution partners around the world, is rolling out two new BlackBerry Bold models and three new BlackBerry Torch models, all running its new BlackBerry 7 OS.
The launch of this family of handsets is RIM's largest global launch ever and more than 225 carriers and distribution partners have already commenced or completed over 500 certification programmes for these five new handsets.

BlackBerry Torch 9810BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a touchscreen smartphone with a slide-out QWERTY keypad. It has a 3.2-inch display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and 720p HD video recording. The smartphone has 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB of onboard storage and runs on BlackBerry OS 7.

The company claims that the new all-touch design display is the largest-ever on a BlackBerry smart phoneto date and is powered by Liquid Graphics technology. The smartphones runs on BlackBerry OS 7, and has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and 720p HD video recording. The Torch 9850 also has 768 MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage.
BlackBerry Torch 9860BlackBerry Torch 9860 has similar specifications to the Torch 9850. The device is also powered by the same 1.2 GHz processor. Just like Torch 9850, the company claims that the all-touch display of 9860 is the largest-ever on a BlackBerry smartphone to date. Similar to Torch 9850, this too has a 5 megapixel camera and supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless.
BlackBerry Bold 9900The thinnest BlackBerry handset ever also runs BlackBerry OS 7, and is equipped with a 1.2 GHz processor. The device is expected to hit the Indian market sometime in the second week of this month. The Bold upgrade is the first BlackBerry smartphone to feature a near-field communications (NFC) chip that can turns smartphone into a mobile wallet.
The device packs 8GB of onboard memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB cards for a total of 40GB of memory. The camera is 5 megapixel, supports flash with 4x digital zoom and has 720p video capture capabilities. It has integrated GPS, 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz) and a/n (5GHz), Quad-band GSM and Tri-band UMTS/HSPA.

However, this BlackBerry smartphone is a GSM/CDMA hybrid. Bold 9930 too will feature the near-field communications (NFC) chip that can turns smartphones into mobile wallet.
